Opening Exhibit: "In the Arena: Photographs from America’s Only Touring Black Rodeo"
A new, original exhibition opens at the High Desert Museum. "In the Arena: Photographs from America’s Only Touring Black Rodeo" features the stunning images of Gabriela Hasbun, who spent more than a decade photographing the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo, now celebrating its 38th year. Hasbun has worked for publications ranging from The New York Times to Rolling Stone. Her images illuminate a thriving although at times unknown culture around Black Americans and the rodeo.
